REDUCE. REUSE. RECYCLE. LEAVE NOTHING BEHIND.
FROM UNUSED TO UNUSUAL
In the product design process, fabric is often left at the factory after a collection has been crafted.
When designer Jessica Goddard realised there was a surplus of fabric left from previous seasons she decided to create a limited collection with the goal of using it up – a collection that would leave nothing behind.
This sparked a new way of looking at design; instead of ordering the necessary amount of fabric prior to production, the available volume of material was the starting point for all creative thinking.
But sometimes constraints feed creativity: an unusual combination of colours became a unique opportunity to transform the design of the Terrex Speed.
"I wanted to ensure as much of the unused material would be used as possible, so that there really would be nothing left behind."

"FOR US AT TERREX IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOT ONLY BUILD PRODUCTS THAT PERFORM AT A HIGH LEVEL, BUT THAT FIT WITH OUR CORE VALUES."
So, celebrating the diversity of past season color palettes while making the shoe look good – that's what it was all about. But it wasn't as easy as it sounds.
Jess spent time grouping swatches before looking at them in combination, experimenting with colourways. On top of all the other constraints, the small, random selection of fabric available meant only a certain number of pairs of shoes would ever be produced. So, an additional challenge was to ensure as much of the material as possible was used up.
Gradually, the finished product came to life: two unique colourways to reinvent the classic high performance TERREX Speed trail running shoe.

NOTHING LEFT BEHIND
Unlike other sports which might require a field or a court, for anyone who loves outdoor sports, nature is the playground. The Nothing Left Behind collection is for those who only leave footprints on the trail and nothing else.
